Our story: We saw the gap and built the industry

Ecardin spent years in the scarf trade — learning the textile industry, understanding fabrics, and above all, understanding customers. That accumulated knowledge laid the foundation for what came next.

In 1989, when we turned our attention to the hijab and bonnet market, the picture was clear: there was only one bonnet on the market — poor quality, neglected, and going nowhere. Demand existed, but no one was meeting it with a product worth trusting.

We saw that gap. We brought everything we knew — our fabric expertise, our craftsmanship, our understanding of the customer — and filled it. That is how the world's largest hijab and bonnet brand was born.

Quality was never a choice for us — it was a responsibility. The women who chose us trusted us. To honour that trust, we have always sourced the finest fabrics, used health-safe dyes, and approached every product with care.

Before 1989
The scarf trade years
Years spent in the scarf business gave us deep knowledge of textiles, craftsmanship, and — most importantly — what customers truly need. This foundation made the next move possible.
 
1989
Pivot to hijab & bonnets Founding move
Only one low-quality bonnet existed on the market. We recognised the unmet demand, filled the gap, and began shaping the hijab and bonnet industry.
This was more than a pivot. We defined a category that didn't exist and grew it through quality. From day one: the best fabrics, the safest dyes, no shortcuts.
 
1995
First physical store
After six years of growth, our first retail location opened — bringing the brand face to face with its customers and deepening the trust relationship.
 
2003
Second store
Growing customer demand called for a growing network.
 
2005
Third store
With three retail locations, Ecardin established itself as a regional force in modest fashion.
 
2009
Mobile sales — reaching every corner of Turkey
Mobile sales vehicles took Ecardin across Anatolia. If the customer couldn't come to the store, the store went to the customer.
 
2012
Own production facility established Production
Quality control was brought entirely in-house. Every stage — from fabric selection to finished product — came under our direct oversight.
 
2018
Reached 67 countries Global
Ecardin moved beyond Turkey's borders. The industry's founder became the industry's global leader.

Second production facility Production
Production capacity doubled to meet global demand. Quality standards remained unchanged.
